Project Description
Biodiversity baseline assessments have been carried out and opportunities for improvement identified at multiple global sites to contribute to the achievement of the client’s Nature Positive objective. As part of the scope of work, habitat surveys were required to identify and map the habitat types (in the EUNIS habitat classification) found within the boundaries of the defined operational sites. The work included an assessment of the habitat condition of each habitat polygon using a range of criteria, the detection of any invasive or pest species present on the site and the identification of possible options for habitat enhancement or new habitat creation to improve the overall biodiversity within the site.
A suitably qualified expert (SQE) was required to classify all habitats found on site using the EUNIS classification system up to level 3. The following links provide supplementary information and EUNIS habitat descriptions to enable this work:
