Project Description
The Implementation of the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) is being developed as an environmental enhancement measure for an agricultural transformation project involving the planting of almond trees over a 600-hectare area. The BAP includes a comprehensive set of activities aimed at promoting biodiversity and mitigating the environmental impacts of the agricultural development. Key actions comprise the installation of nesting boxes for kestrels, passerines, bats, and small birds of prey, as well as posts for raptors, insect hotels, and wood piles. Additionally, the project involves the coordination and preparation for the planting of a Pilot Island and Hedgerows to mitigate frost risk. Liaison with the client and local authorities supports compliance and successful implementation.
The project addresses all stages, from supplier identification, contracting, and supervision, to material transport, site preparation, installation, planting, and clean-up. Detailed execution reports are being prepared for each activity, including maps of the installed elements, maintenance proposals, and effectiveness monitoring plans. Post-construction monitoring and maintenance are incorporated to ensure the success of biodiversity measures. By integrating habitat creation and vegetation restoration into the agricultural transformation, this BAP demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable development and the long-term enhancement of biodiversity within the project area.
