Project Description
Biodiversity Node was initially engaged by ARUP in order to undertake biodiversity baseline (birds, bats, terrestrial mammals and connectivity, amphibians, reptiles, flora and vegetation, steppe habitat suitability assessment) for the Environmental Impact Assessment of a Data Center required by the technological company META, in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Spain.
Due to the endangered species found in the plot, a comprehensive biodiversity management plan has been designed and presented to the public regulator for approval, including corrective measures for power lines project, an agricultural management plan designed to improve steppe birds habitat quality, and habitat improvement measures for imperial eagle.
In addition to that, a detailed offsetting plan for compensating the loss of the endangered habitat Adenocarpus aereus shrubland, or “codeseda”) is in the process of application, including soil quality and root system analysis, seed colection and nursery plantation, field plantation to create new distrubution areas and trasnplanting trials
