Project Description
Bayer CropScience in association with Biodiversity Node are committed to actively support the protection of biodiversity in the agricultural environment, demonstrating compatibility between agricultural productivity and nature conservation.
The Baydiversity project aims to to raise awareness the agricultural world about the importance of biodiversity, promoting its knowledge, conservation and enhancement.
The project helps farmers to implement Conservation Action Plans (PAC) in the environment of agricultural farms. These PACs consist in the evaluation of the natural or semi-natural areas, cataloging the flora and fauna species existing on the farm, and in the subsequent definition of practical recommendations to manage, recover and value biodiversity in these areas.
Biodiversity Node is also assisting in the implementation of the conservation actions, by, for example, creating ponds for amphibians, installing bird and bat nesting boxes or planting hedges between farm plots.
